when the words come home

five days ago, i scribbled some lines in a notebook–and then promptly went into the bathroom to splash water on my face to stop the tears from falling.

like static on the radio,
only a word or two
makes it off the airwaves &
onto this holy ground.

but those lyrics are enough
for my eager soul to cling to;
and as i wait for the words
to form sentences,
i find my heart singing along.Read the rest

i love you
and am thankful for all that you’ve taught me

but i need you to
stop haunting my todays,
making me skeptical of everything that’s still to come.
